China Summer School Representing Cardiff University School of Engineering

I recently got asked by Cardiff University Engineering School to represent them at a summer school for a month in China. Myself and two 3rd year students from the school will be going to China in August to learn about some of the Chinese Engineering marvels, The Chinese Culture, Language and politics that make it such a unique country, with an undoubted massive influence on the future world.

We will be visiting Shanghai, Xi'an and Chongqing. Having lectures on the World Expo of Shanghai ran in 2010 on "Better City, Better Life" from the chief planner himself, Seeing the protection put in place to preserve some of their historic towns from flooding, seeing one of the massive Hi-Technology parks, Some of the new building in Qingpu and many visits and lectures to do with the sustainable development going on in the country amongst many others.

I am very honored to be given this amazing opportunity by Cardiff University who will be paying for my flights and insurance, while the China Engineering Education Excellence Alliance will be looking after us in China. I am also thank full to my Employer Laing O'Rourke for supporting me in this. Giving me the time off from my Summer Placement building a school in the Manchester area to go and gain this invaluable experience for myself and for the company as well!

There will be plenty of blog posts about my visit I am sure so check back to see how I've been getting on in August!
